Best 2008 SUV Review

2008 was a great year to buy an SUV. Many great models from all the top companies rolled off the assembly line every day. But three models stuck out as the three top 2008 SUV’s.

The first is a classic american SUV in a newly designed luxury body. The Chevrolet Suburban has been an American favorite since the 30’s, and the 2008 model is no exception.

The 2008 Suburban 2500 comes in two trims, the LS, LT, LTZ and the Z71. One would think the luxurious basic features of this car are from a Range Rover or Mercedes.

The performance features include a 320hp 5.3L V8, a 4 speed automatic transmission, and an 8500lb towing capacity. The interior features include cloth seats, illuminated and heated power mirrors, air conditioning, keyless entry, mp3 player, CD player, AM/FM radio, cruise control, audio controls on the steering wheel, power driver seat, and an auxillary power outlet.

Many additional features are available. The 2008 Suburban is available in black, white, grey, blue, red, silver and gold. The starting price is $38,085 and goes up to $43,260.

This SUV was well worth the money in 2008 and still is today. The next SUV is a beautiful Swedish SUV made by Volvo. The Volvo XC90 is an SUV produced by the company that has the reputation as the safest car company ever.

The XC90 V8 is one of three off-road vehicles produced by Volvo, the other two being the XC60 and XC70(station wagon). The XC90 is the largest of the three, and also the most luxurious and expensive, but this vehicle is worth the paying the extra money.

Standard features include Sapeli wood inlays, steering wheel and shift knob. The XC90 V8 boasts a 315hp 4.4L V8 engine, this is a speedy vehicle for its size. It is possible to get an Executive package, which includes leather seats and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Safety features include roll-over protection, ultra-strength roof, a whiplash-elimination system and a specially designed hood to deflect pedestrians over the car instead of under. The base cost of the XC90 is $28,000 and goes up to $33,000 for the top-end model.

The last vehicle in this list is the most lavish of the three, the Mercedes M550 is a high-end SUV, with a 5.5L V8, an engine more powerful than many sports cars. As far as interior goes, this is more of a limo than a sports-SUV. The Mercedes M550 includes leather interior, power and heated driver seat and passenger seats, and with many other optional features including a DVD player and many others.

One can expect to obtain this car for about $57,000. 2008 SUV’s were great, buying one would be a good choice because they go for reduced prices for vehicles similar to the brand-new 2010 models. These three vehicles are great SUV’s for families and auto enthusiasts alike.
